   2017 NBA Manifesto

Seth Curry
PG/SG, 6’2, 185lbs, 26 years old, 4 years of experience

Very one dimensional, but it’s quite the dimension. In far bigger minutes and on far bigger volume than ever before, Curry shot 42.5% from three, and 48.1% overall, Tries on defence, gives up a fair few, but is al-ways going to earn them back when shooting that well and has made himself into an NBA rotation player. And, for at least 12 more months, a Maverick.

Player Plan: One year at $3,028,410 remaining, which represents very good value. It will get expensive after that, however.

Deadline looms for these unguaranteed players

Memphis - James Johnson and Seth Curry: Johnson has been Memphis's best small forward in his short spell with them thus far this season, and while this is an indictment of his competition, he has also been a genuine breath of fresh air. Curry, meanwhile, has yet to play since his midseason call-up, and although he was in the midst of proving he was an NBA calibre point guard during his short D-League stay, there is a good chance he is waived to save money, albeit potentially subsequently re-signed.

Seth Curry - Stephen's brother was an unpopular cut by the Golden State Warriors at the end of camp, and joined their namesake D-League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors immediately afterwards. Needing to prove he is more than an off-ball scorer, Curry is off to a strong start, averaging 19.8 points and 7.7 assists.

2014 Summer League Rosters - Orlando

Seth Curry - Steph's brother had multiple NBA looks last season, including one game each with both the Grizzlies and the Cavaliers. Reportedly, he turned down the contract Scotty Hopson later mistakenly received - either Cleveland didn't offer him the same deal that Hopson eventually got and that information was wrong, or Curry made a grave error. Between NBA contracts, Curry spent the season with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the D-League and averaged 20.4 points and 5.7 assists in 45 games, shooting 37.8% from three point range. He certainly plays like big bro. But he has not that talent level. Given the opportunity in the D-League to show he was more than just the shooter he had been at Duke, Curry did so, but he still nevertheless showed he was mostly just a shooter. And at his height, he's going to have to be an even better one to make it.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
