Elijah Millsap

Elijah is the younger brother of Paul and John. Paul, I'm assuming you know about; John can be found here. Elijah is the youngest and smallest of the three, with a great frame for a shooting guard (6'6, 210), but the skills of a forward. He does not have a good outside jumpshot and turns it over a huge amount, an undersized face-up power forward in an undersized small forward's body. For that reason, he's going to take John's career path, not Paul's.

Elijah Millsap

Millsap has now spent three seasons in the D-League, and although his numbers (17.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.6 apg, 2.0 spg) took a slight hit this year, he remains productive. The unspectacular Millsap is consistently effective both defensively and as a slasher, yet is undersized for the small forward position at which he would otherwise be best suited. At this point, too, being such a known commodity may start to count against him.

Elijah Millsap - Millsap has seemingly eschewed the D-League and is currently unsigned. His last stint was with the Petron Blaze in the Philippines, where in twenty games he posted one triple double and two quadruple doubles, both of which unfortunately involved turnovers. A defender and slasher, Millsap is tough and plays hard, but not without many mistakes along the way.

Elijah Millsap
SG/SF, 6’6, 225lbs, 29 years old, 3 years of experience

Reading nothing into his 23 minutes of NBA action this year, Millsap spent another season in the D-League and once again excelled defensively, with great instincts and enough mobility to follow through on them. Despite this, however, he is about to turn 30 and still lacks for an average NBA offensive skill. As much as the team needs defence, they need it in the form of two-way players within the rotation, which Millsap will likely never be. Still, as 14th men go, he is the rare defensive wing specialist and will accordingly remain on the cusp of the NBA for a while longer yet.

Player Plan: Unguaranteed minimum salary, final year. The contract has no guarantee date, keeping Millsap until the end of the preseason for no cap cost if required, a good amount of time for him to show if he is worth a spot.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
