Chris Daniels.

- Chris Daniels, like Glen McGowan, was mentioned in the round-up of the 2010 Puerto Rican BSN season. In fact, apart from that brief three game spell in Puerto Rico, Daniels has spent his entire professional career thus far in Korea. Last year he averaged 21.0 points and 9.1 rebounds for the KT&G Kites, ranking second in scoring and fourth in rebounds. There are two Chris Daniels's in the world of professional basketball, and the other one is perhaps better known, the former Georgia forward who has spent the last four years in Poland. But this Chris Daniels is the bigger one, the 6'10 centre with a jumpshot and one time valid draft candidate. The one with the sleepy eyebrows.

Chris Daniels - 3 games, 21.0 mpg, 13.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 3.7 fpg, 0.3 spg, 1.0 bpg, 62% FG, 33% 3PT, 100% FT

[...]For the three games Gainous missed, the team brought in Chris Daniels as his replacement. Daniels is a centre out of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, which is not the same as plain old Texas A&M. He went undrafted in 2008, but not before getting looks from multiple NBA teams, including the Magic, Kings and Rockets (with whom he spent summer league that season). Daniels has spent both seasons of his professional career in South Korea, averaging 22/9 in year one and 21/9 in year two. He appeared to play well in his three games for Santurce, so it's a bit of a mystery why the team returned immediately to Gainous once he had returned to full health. Whatever their reasons for it were, though, Gainous did not stay for much longer before being replaced with a former NBA talent.

Chris Daniels

Years of summer leaguing it up finally paid off for Daniels with a training camp contract with the Lakers last season. He consistently remains on the cusp of the NBA because he's legitimately good, a jumpshooter with range and legit size who can also block shots and rebound when he puts his mind to it. But this latter thing is also what has kept him on that side of the fence - Daniels doesn't always try that hard, be it on individual possessions, entire games, or in his overall conditioning. Even when he does, the reputation now precedes him. Nevertheless, Daniels routinely produces at this level, and he will likely do so again.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
