Daniel Edozie

Edozie played little at Iowa State, but made up for it by making sure that, when he did play, he gave it his all. This wasn't always the case, but now that it is, it is the staple of Edozie's game. With a power forward's height and not much length to compensate for it, Edozie nevertheless plays entirely in the paint on both ends. He is very strong and very tough, a workhorse in the paint who attacks the glass and pushes around anyone else doing the same. This results of course in a very high foul rate, but so be it in such limited minutes.

There is not much skill to go with this toughness, particularly offensively, where Edozie is very limited in his range. Combining bad hands with a frustrating tendency to always bring the ball down, Edozie can catch and finish with power in the lane, but not especially reliably, and boasts little on the way of post moves or refined touch. Along with only rarely taking a jump shot (and only when wide open), plus not creating in the post nor handling the ball, Edozie's main offensive weapon is the put back. Everything needs setting up for him. Defensively, for all his strength and toughness, Edozie does not actually rebound well, nor does he have much shot blocking presence. But he does certainly have a presence.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
