"Rebound by one of the big guys... Divac, I think... Hands off to one of the little guards... The big guy with the beard passes off to the little lefty... Boy, I'm having trouble with these names."- Johnny Most

   2017 NBA Manifesto

Kristaps Porzingis
PF/C, 7’3, 240lbs, 22 years old, 2 years of experience

Not an enormous amount of development on show as a sophomore, but still an immense bundle of skills. Porzingis is a legitimately excellent rim deterrent when in the right position, and increasingly a go-to offensive player, at least when his team remembers to turn to him. His future is at the centre position, even if it is not with this team, but a consolidation year rather than a breakout year didn’t dim his stardom any.

Player Plan: Two years of rookie scale salary remaining. Much as he might not be wanted in a battle of egos, he ought to be, because he represents the short, medium and long-term futures in a way that no other player or asset does.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
