SF, 6’7, 220lbs, 33 years old, 11 years of experience
Sefolosha lost his job to Taurean Prince, which is a very good illustrating of the youth-supplanting-veteran evolution that the fourth oldest team in the league needs more of. However, Sefolosha is now to be an unrestricted free agent, so the opportunity to get some value is gone. For cheap, he would be a solid candidate to bring back behind Prince and to assist Bembry, and if there is any value to be found in a sign-and-trade deal - which seems unlikely - it should be taken. Thabo can still play defence and pick up a few points on the way. But for that reason, he is probably going to find a contender somewhere. (And probably should have been dealt to one at the deadline.)

Player Plan: Expiring $3.85 million contract. The time for value has passed and it is probably just best now to let him walk.

   Chicago's Meticulously Crafted 2011 Offseason Plan That Relies An Awful Lot Upon Guesswork

You know how, when evaluating draft talent, we highlight people's flaws and say that this is why they will never make it in the NBA? The starting shooting guards in the conference finals were Keith Bogans, Thabo Sefolosha, DeShawn Stevenson......and Dwyane Wade. Of the final eight starting guards in the season, three were contractually obligated to never take a dribble. Four if you count Mike Bibby. Makes you reconsider to what extent that analysis should really stretch; after all, if a head coach likes you enough, it doesn't matter how flawed you are. Of course, this inability to dribble also rather submarined Chicago's campaign, as will now be explained.

   NBA Fantasy Preview - 13th November 2017

Bitten as ever by the injury bug, Utah has lost star centre Rudy Gobert for the next month with a leg injury. And rather than exposing useful yet limited backup centre Ekpe Udoh to a starting role he would simply foul out of, the Jazz will start Thabo in his place, at least for now. Bumping Derrick Favors down to centre, Sefolosha will start as an extra wing forward; a better rebounder than Udoh anyway, Sefolosha further strengthens the Jazz’s already strong perimeter defence, and will provide some transition basket opportunities Udoh won’t. It has already somewhat worked in the first Gobert-less game, as Thabo recorded 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals for a healthy 35.3 fantasy points. Note also that due to Gobert’s injury, plus those to Joe Johnson and Dante Exum, the versatile Alec Burks ($6.6 million) may have some cheap value.
