"When Primoz [Brezec] first came to the US, he learned his English. I don't know the words, but let's just say everything starts with gangster and ends with pimp." - Sam Mitchell

Top 101 NBA Ten-Day Contract Candidates (When 20 Would Probably Have Been Enough)

Jermareo Davidson - Former Bobcats and Warriors big man Davidson began the year in Russia, backing up Primoz Brezec at Krasnie Krylya Samara. However, he averaged only 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in the Russian PBL, and was released along with Qyntel Woods after Samara fell out of the Eurocup. Davidson then returned to the D-League to play for the Idaho Stampede, where he has totalled 33 points and 13 rebounds in 2 games. He will score on jumpshots and sheer athleticism, while rebounding decently to boot. If Ryan Hollins is a semi-regular NBA player, surely Jermareo Davidson can be too.

2010 Summer League Rosters: Atlanta Hawks

Jermareo Davidson

Like Augustine, Davidson was previously covered on the Jazz summer league roster recap. Davidson averaged 7.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the Jazz, all coming in less than 11 minutes per game. Pretty good.

2010 Summer League Rosters: Utah Jazz

Jermareo Davidson

Davidson was waived by the Warriors last summer, picking up $75,000 not to play for them. He then moved to Turkey to play for Darussafaka, where he averaged an inefficient 14.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. The rebounds per game led the Turkish league, the blocks were 2nd, and Davidson was named a TBL all-star, but Darussafaka came last anyway. Davidson then went to Puerto Rico to play for Humacao, but didn't do a lot.

Davidson's problem is that he's about to turn 26, and hasn't improved hugely. More than anything, Davidson is still thin. His height and athleticism gets him rebounds, blocks and some points, and the jumpshot is OK for a man who can't make a foul shot. But without the strength, he'll continue to get pushed around (and out of) the NBA.

The 2010 Puerto Rican BSN Season

Jermareo Davidson - 2 games, 10.0 mpg, 7.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.0 apg, 2.0 fpg, 0.0 spg, 0.0 bpg, 7-13 FG, 1-2 FT

[...] Mays missed a game on May 15th, and ex-NBA big man Jermareo Davidson was brought in to replace him. And when Mays returned in time for the next game, Davidson took the place of Anderson, who did not play for the team again. However, Davidson underperformed, and another ex-NBA player from this past CBA season, Corsley Edwards, filled his role. Edwards averaged 29.3 points, 8.3 points and 2.7 assists in 39 minutes per game in China, shooting 55% from the field, 69% from three point range (somehow) and 78% from the line, leaving only when he broke a finger. Included in there was a 50 point outing and a 47 point outing, and in 15 games he never scored less than 20. He might have done something similar in Puerto Rico had he had more than two games to work with.

Where Are They Now, 2010; Part 15

- Jermareo Davidson

Davidson was waived by the Warriors in the summer, yet still picks up $75,000 from them this season for his troubles. He has since moved to Turkey to play for Darussafaka. On the season he averages 14.7 points per game (albeit inefficiently), 9.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. The rebounds per game lead the Turkish league, and Darussafaka also have the leading scorer in the nation in Quincy Douby (21.6 points per game).

However, despite having the best scorer and best rebounder in the country, they are last in the league with a 1-15 record.

Note: Non-US teams that the player has played for are, unless stated otherwise, from the top division in that nation. If a league or division name is expressly stated, it's not the top division. The only exceptions to this are the rare occasions where no one league is said to be above the other, such as with the JBL/BJ League split in Japan.
